OUR STORY
The founder of Ives Insurance Services, Dick Ives, was a trail blazer who set out to create his own legacy. He began working for a traditional agency. Dick had the desire to offer more to individuals as he realized that not every risk can be narrowed down into strict parameters.
He felt that insurance should fit the needs of the clients, not limit them.

Dick was compelled to seize the opportunity of freedom to help his clients and their unique needs. This led him to venture out in 1959 and establish Ives Insurance Services in his garage in Point Loma, San Diego.

Dick’s daughter, Sharon Ives, had been inspired by her father’s tenacity and joined Ives in 1983. Sharon, also a leader, sought out more opportunity to be of further assistance to our clients and initiated the commercial insurance branch of the agency.
Since 1985, this division has grown exponentially.

With a commitment to building lasting relationships with clients, we are attentive to your requests. We realize several needs for our clients and are dedicated to providing comprehensive insurance programs tailored to you.

Since 1989, Sharon took over Ives Insurance and the agency propelled even further from what her father originated. Among expanding our product offerings, recruiting passionate and knowledgeable agents, becoming admitted with over 100 top rated insurance companies --the Ives legacy continues, and we are here to protect yours.
